Recommendation letters

Recommendation letters are an important part of your application to scholarships, graduate schools and employment opportunities. If you would like me to write an recommendation letter for you, please note the following.

  • Ask me at least a month in advance of the deadline or I may not finish on time
  • Send me a list of your accomplishments, your resume / CV, and anything else you think may help me draft a strong letter
  • Give me instruction on how to submit the letter, note that I only send letters directly to the evaluation committee (i.e., not through you)

For undergraduate students whose only interaction with me is in my class, try to engage with me prior to asking for a letter. This could be through office hours, Q and A during lecture, etc.
