Courses

MECE3345 – Materials science
Properties of materials described by and related to materials structure. Emphasis on mechanical properties of materials.

MECE5397 / 6397 – Computational Design of Structures and Materials
Introduction to computer aided design of engineering systems, with a focus on deterministic and continuous methods including linear programming, convex programming. Special attentions are paid to truss optimization and topology optimization methods.

MECE3369 – Solid Mechanics
1D small deformation theories. Intermediate studies of the principles of stress analysis, buckling, energy methods, and the theories of failure; includes practical applications.

Projects

Our lab offers student projects in the broad field of mechanics and materials for both undergraduates and masters students. If you are interested in doing a research project or simply curious to learn more about our lab, check out the student projects page.
